This paper examines the classical taxonomies of euphemisms through three primary theoretical frameworks: semantic, pragmatic, and functional approaches. Euphemisms, as linguistic phenomena that substitute direct expressions with more socially acceptable alternatives, have been systematically categorized by scholars to understand their structural properties, contextual applications, and communicative functions
